Erika & Wyatt - April 6, 2026
One thing being a photographer has given me is the opportunity to explore places that might otherwise go unnoticed. I’ve driven through Rosalia, WA more times than I can count—I knew it was surrounded by agricultural land, but I never realized just how charming and picturesque some of these spots could be. I grew up partially on a ranch, and my grandparents own property in Texas where they raise longhorns, blacktail, and whitetail deer. But I never really had the chance to see those kinds of spaces through a photographer’s lens.
When Erika reached out to me with a last-minute request to do their engagement session on a farm, it was an absolute no-brainer. We had a 24-hour turnaround from the time this session was booked, so I’ll admit I was a little nervous heading into it without knowing much about them. But Erika and Wyatt are some of the kindest people I’ve had the chance to meet, and we instantly clicked.
The location had everything—open pastures with cows, golden fields, and even an awesome little “bar” tucked in the back. It was truly a dream engagement photo location. They gave me free rein of the property (as much as you can on a working farm), and the entire engagement shoot just flowed so naturally. They were total troopers—running, dancing, and fully trusting the process. As dinner time rolled around, the cows made their presence known with plenty of mooing and shuffling around the pasture, which honestly just added to the experience. And the sunset? It absolutely showed off that night. The light, the setting, the energy—I still can’t believe some of the moments we were able to capture during this sunset engagement session.
While I’m not their wedding photographer, I’m so grateful they trusted me with such an important season of their lives. I have no doubt their fall wedding is going to be beautiful. Erika and Wyatt—thank you for trusting me, embracing the chaos, and making this session so unforgettable!
